Jalukie, August 5 (MExN): The inaugural programme of the re-location of Jalukie police station building was held on August 5 at Jalukie Police Station. The programme was organized by DEF Peren and was attended by DGP, Nagaland, SP Peren, other dignitaries and public leaders.


A report from the DIPR stated that Deputy General of Police, Nagaland, T. John Longkumer, IPS who inaugurated the police station building acknowledged the community for their co-operation and their constant support in maintaining law and order. He stated that Jalukie is a wonderful town which has got a lot of potentials and development is taking place at a very faster rate.  He asserted that the main focus of the Police Force is community policing in-order to give safety and security to not only the residents of Jalukie town and also to its adjoining villages.


Longkumer also stated that development will not happen without security and therefore said that development & security should go hand in hand. In addition, he mentioned that women police force would also be given financial help in the best possible way and encouraged the police force to provide a healing touch to all the needy ones. Furthermore, he encouraged the women youths to be a part of this Special Task Force (STF) whose main motive is to specialize what is happening within the locality and also made an announcement that 33% reservation seats has also been reserved for Women Police Force in Nagaland and also challenged the energetic women youths to come forward to expose their mental ability and physical fitness and also gave an assurance that transparency would be maintained during the recruitment. Later, he urged the un-uniformed personals to collectively work together with the women police force.


The programme was chaired by Addl. SP, Peren, Limaakum T Jamir while the welcome address was delivered by SSP Peren, Videlalie Zashu, IPS. It also featured a special number by Symphony of Grace Band and concluded with vote of thanks by Sub-Divisional Police Officer, Peren, Vikato Thonge.
